Petit Domaine opens its doors in Virginia with a fresh, celebratory take on the winery experience
Loudoun County has a new reason to raise a glass. Petit Domaine, Sparkling Winery & Estate, has officially opened its gates, bringing a distinctly effervescent vision to Virginia’s thriving wine landscape. Nestled along Charles Town Pike in Hillsboro, this boutique “little estate” is the first in the region to devote itself entirely to crafting premium, traditional-method sparkling wines—and it’s doing so with a level of polish that blends French inspiration with modern hospitality.
Far more than a tasting room, Petit Domaine is positioning itself as a destination for celebration. The winery’s refined spaces, thoughtfully designed culinary program, and meticulous winemaking philosophy reflect founder and Loudoun native J Snyder’s belief that sparkling wine creates an experience as uplifting as its bubbles. “A sparkling winery brings a different energy to the wine experience,” he notes. “We’re specialists in the wine but also a place for elevated hospitality—a new dimension added to this already remarkable wine region.”

During its early years, while estate-grown cuvées rest and evolve, Petit Domaine has partnered with a premier cru Champagne house to craft its inaugural releases. The result: a debut portfolio that sets an ambitious tone for what’s to come, shaped under the expertise of Head Winemaker Shai Van Gelder.
The grand opening unfolded as a stylish showcase of this vision, complete with a ceremonial ribbon cutting, warm remarks from local officials, and guided tastings of the winery’s first sparkling wines. Guests explored the renovated tasting room, expansive outdoor spaces, and the culinary offerings that promise to make each visit more than just a sip-and-go experience.
Central to that experience is the estate’s curated food program, developed under the guidance of Michelin-starred Chef Eric Ziebold of Washington, D.C.’s acclaimed Kinship and Métier. “It’s an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a winery that approaches food with the same intentionality as their sparkling wines,” says Ziebold.
With its elegant approach and dedicated focus, Petit Domaine ushers in a fresh chapter for Virginia wine country—one defined by craftsmanship, celebration, and the unmistakable allure of fine bubbles.
